Al Bennett - Director
Hello fellow Corvetters,
Trust you floated through the monsoon season. Sorry I missed the last meeting. After a week in Florida I returned with a cold that kept me in for another week.
Our charity donation of $500.00 for the first quarter that was approved by the board is Nashville Humane Association. They are committed to finding responsible housing, controlling pet overpopulation and promoting the inhumane treatment of ani-mals. Some of their programs are.
1. Prison Puppies achieving worthy services
2. Humane education and community outreach
3. Community Pet Food Bank
4. Shelter Tours
5. Rover and Fluffy Mascots
We received recognition on the Tenn. Urban Forestry's Council website for our $500.00 donation to reforest Gatlinburg. This was done from a suggestion by one of our club members. We were one of their more substantial donors.
A letter of appreciation is to be forthcoming from Monroe Car-roll Children's Hospital for our generous donation.
A number of charities are under consideration for this year.
1. American Cancer Society
2. American Diabetes Association.
3. Red Cross
4. Green House Ministries
5. Nashville Rescue Mission
6. Monroe Harding Children's Home
7. Second Harvest Food Bank
If you have strong feelings about any of these places let me know. Any member of our club is welcome to bring forth a charity that is not on the list for us to jointly check out. We appreciate your participation.
